Well, a lot has happened since I last posted. We had a great time with the Wedam clan for Christmas and the Bailey fam for New Years. It was a great break. Vera and I loved how much we got to see Nathan. He has been so busy with school. It was so nice to just have him with us with no deadlines or tests looming in the future. We also got to talk with Nathan's siblings that are out on missions. That was so fun. We can't wait for them to get home. Then we blessed Vera before everyone took off to go back to school, work, and home.

Our Thanksgiving

Well, I bet you will never guess where we were for Thanksgiving. Any one? Tennessee, can you believe it? My little brother was getting married! We had a great time and I must say that out little Vera was a great traveler. She did great and was adored by all. We had fun seeing a few sights around Nashville and nearby towns, but mostly we had a great time celebrating my brothers wedding. They are an adorable couple and I can't wait to get to know my new sister better! Enough said, here are some great pictures of our trip.

She was born Oct.6th and is now more than a week old. I just can't believe how much time has passed by. We love her so much and are so excited that she is here with us!

SIX WEEK BREAK!!

Nathan and I have been squeezing in as much fun as possible over the last six weeks. Nathan was on break from school and we decided we better make the most of it before our little girl joins us. Plus, Nathan has been working so hard at school and let me brag... he puts even more time helping me and supporting me. He is amazing and just deserved a great break so that meant lots of time with family, and as many fishing/hunting/crabbing trips as possible. We had such a great time. We were at the Oregon coast for two weeks and then spent a week in Idaho. It was so fun and relaxing. The other weeks were spent doing day trips throughout northern Oregon.

This was so fun for me. Nathan and I went here on our honeymoon. It was so fun being back there. We had a picnic there and then walked up part of the trail. I'm pretty pregnant and out of shape.

These are a couple of the tomatoes that we were able to grow on our deck. Nathan was so excited. It would not be a proper fall without home grown tomato and cucumber sandwiches.

He also build some shelves in our shed over the break and they are awesome.

We also took a trip out to Newport, Oregon Aquarium. I made Nathan put in the car seat and my hospital bag before we took off. He might have thought that I was crazy, but I am considered full-term and I didn't want to be unprepared. It was fun to go and see the animals.

We also had to try the famous Mo's clam chowder (well Nathan did)

Well, I think that about wraps up our fun break... Wait one more thing. Nathan and Dad Bailey went Salmon fishing and I would be in trouble if I didn't show you some pics. Nathan loved it and I loved that he got to spend some time with his Dad. I think that is so important and make for some of the most lasting memories. Thanks for taking him Dad Bailey.

Okay, now I think that does it. I guess the next post we might just have to introduce our little girl! Only two weeks until my due date!! So fun and exciting!

Baby Shower

My awesome aunts and cousin threw me a baby shower last week. First, I have to to say that they are amazing and spent so much time making it a wonderful, fun, amazing, the list goes on and on, shower. Really, they were so kind and I love them so much! It was so nice to get together with friends and family for a bit of fun and some really good advice. I never thought of myself as much of a pink girl, but I have to say that I am loving the color and all the cute girly things that come along with it. My new motto: the more girly, the better. We and such a great time. To sum it up in a few words: great food, great friends and family, hilarious games, and a whole lot of laughter. Oh, I should add that I was also given some great advice and tips. Please keep them coming.

Time is flying by...

Well, it seems like I am just as bad as ever with updating this blog. We have been having a great time though. Nathan has been busy with school, but I have to say that he is so great about making time for me. It doesn't matter how much he has on his plate he always seems to make sure that I am doing good and help me out. I love him so much!! He finished his first year of dental school! Yeah! I guess that just means three more to go. I am sure that it will fly by.

We have been trying to get things more and more ready for our little girl to come. I have been working on quiet book pages. To be honest it consumed me for a little bit and there was craft stuff all over the house. I learned a lot though. Nathan finished painting the house (well for the most part). I guess we are learning that there are always improvements to make. Next task... the Nursery. I am so excited about that!

Our little girl is doing great. She sure does love to kick and move around. I have to say that it is comforting to feel her moving. We are so excited to have her join us.

Other things...
We have been doing lots of little trips to various areas in Oregon. It has been so great. We have gone to the coast camping with friends.

and while we were over there the boys were able to do some fishing.

Another weekend we were able to go to the Rose festival and watch my dad compete in a triathlon. GO DAD!!

On the 4th of July we went with some friends to a rodeo and then later that evening went down to the waterfront to see the fireworks. I have to say that I loved the rodeo. Some of the things they can do are simply amazing.

I promise I am almost done with the update. Stay with me for one more minute. We celebrated Nathan's 25th birthday.

He is getting so old that one box of candles is no longer sufficient. I was forced to improvise. I settled for a match.

He pretty much picked out all his presents this year, but he did a great job acting surprised when I made him open them.

And We Are Having A....

Nathan and I found out recently what gender our little baby is!! This great group of gals and I get together and go walking regularly. We decided that it would be fun to get creative when sharing the gender of the baby with friends. We threw out ideas and decided that I would dye the cake pink if it was a girl and blue if we were having a boy. Then they would cut into the cake and find out the gender. So I did just that. I love decorating for get togethers and what a fun way to share the gender of our baby with friends!

So I decorated and tried to keep it as neutral as possible, but man was that hard!

So Much To Share!

Well, so much time has passed without updating that I am afraid you might be in for a really, really long update. Don't worry I mostly like to share photos.

I guess that I should start by stating that I am pregnant! We are so, so excited. I am 16 weeks and so far everything has looked great. We are so excited to be welcoming a little one into our home in Oct (the due date is Oct. 13th).

We have been really enjoying ourselves the last few months. We had some great company come and stay with us over the last few months. I was able to go with Sylvia and Chandler to OMSI when they came up with Mark. It was so fun and I just had to share a few photos.

Nathan had a spring break for a the first time in about four years and we were able to go to the coast with my family for a few days and then head down to Klamath for the remainder of the break. We had a lot of fun being with our families.

Easter weekend was a great time. Terry flew into Portland for the weekend. Mom and Dad Wedam drove up from Klamath and Elliott made his way from Eugene. I cherish the times when my entire family is together. We were able to go to the Japanese Gardens while they were here. They were lovely and just amazing. We saw this paper kite that was over 400 years old and it was massive.

I was able to witness my mom and aunt get sealed to her parents. That was a beautiful evening. That same weekend we were able to go and see Wicked. I loved it!! THANKS DAD AND MOM!!!! We finished the wonderful weekend off with a great church meeting and family dinner. It was really just such a great, uplifting time.

President's Day Weekend

Nathan had a rough week of midterms last week and we were so excited when my family invited us to go hiking with them. It was just what we both needed after such a long week. We set out to hike in the gorge. It is gorgeous out there. It was a nice relaxing hike with lots of falls and pretty good trails. We have so badly been wanting the weather to turn warmer so we can get out more. It was a great day. Thanks family for inviting us and taking us with you! It is nice to live closer so that we can join in and do more activities with them.

I am thinking that it is about time that I post a blog about our winter adventures. Nathan and I had so much fun this holiday season. We were able to go up to Canada this christmas with the Bailey family. We started the journey by riding the train to Montana where Mom Bailey picked us up and continued our journey to Canada. So fun.

Once we got there we said our hellos and hopped back into the car to travel to Calgary to watch a professional hockey. It was so great!

Nathan always would talk about this fudge that his grandpa made and it was such a delight to have Dad Bailey make it this year. It meant a lot to Nathan, although he probably wouldn't admit it (but as his wife I feel I should express some of these things). Oh, by the way, the fudge was so so good.

This is going to be a long post so be prepared. I took so many photos and some I just have to share!
We went to a live nativity. It was so cold, but very cool!

We went curling. It was my first time doing this and let me tell you it was a blast.

We had fun ice skating out in this flooded field. Well, I didn't skate, but took photos. Just an amazing day (I particularly loved that we were out in this gorgeous field).

We had a little nativity reading on Christmas Eve and the traditional christmas ball. Then it was off to bed so that Santa would come.

We had such a WONDERFUL Christmas! Thanks Mom and Dad Bailey and really the whole family! We love you!

Our First Christmas Tree!

Nathan and I had so much fun this year decorating our first christmas tree. Last year we were back in Rexburg and it didn't make sense for us to get a tree when we were going to be leaving so quickly after finals. This year we were able to get a tree. I was glad that everyone talked me into getting a tree this year! I forgot how much I love that evergreen smell it makes and how cheerful it is in the home.

Last weekend, Nathan and I were able to travel down to Klamath Falls for my Mom's birthday and have some fun with our families. On Friday night, we went and saw Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. They are a swing/ big band group and it was a blast. The following day we went out into the woods around the area to find a christmas tree (with a permit of course). It is a family tradition and we love to make a day of it. This year the snow was quite deep so we needed snow shoes. The only problem was that we were short one pair. I volunteered to go without so that everyone could go look for the perfect tree. I don't know what I was thinking. It was so tiring. The snow was at least knee deep and often when I stepped I would find that almost my entire leg would fall down into the layers of snow. Most of the time I just rolled around or crawled. It was tiring, but quite funny. I wish I had remembered to grab some of Mom Wedam's pictures to post, but i didn't. You'll just have to picture it. Eventually, we had to get back because the civil war game was about to start. The men were ready to be done with the christmas tree hunting and back watching the game (plus by this point people we dropping like flies falling into the snow). I think that we ended up having a snowball fight and would just point and say that tree looks good. Cut er' down. Nathan and I were able to pick out our first christmas tree. I think that our tree looks a little better than a Charlie Brown tree and it sure smells great.

Then we decorated it! So fun!

Oh, How I Love Thanksgiving

Well, life has been moving pretty fast the last few months for Nathan and I. A quick little recap: Bought a house, had a great summer traveling with our AMAZING families, moved to Portland, Nathan started Dental School, I started student teaching, Nathan finished his first term of Dental School and started another term, made some great friends, and dressed up like pirates for Halloween. I think that brings us to the present. I just FINISHED my student teaching. I am officially done with it and will receive my diploma! It has been a long time coming, but I am so so excited. It was a major goal of mine to get a bachelors degree and I have finally done it. I have to admit that I feel a little bit lost on where to go from here, but I am enjoying the break and rest that is overdue.

We had a great time this Thanksgiving. It was an amazing event that I will cherish. It was the first time in a long while where my entire Edgley-side of my family was together for the holidays. These times are becoming more sparse with family members getting married, some off to college, and others on missions (all great things I might add, but nice when we are finally able to get together). We really enjoyed relaxing, watching football (well that was more for Nathan; I read my book), and of course EATING. Aunt Christine prepared this beautiful long table so that we could all be seated together (minus the kids who were placed at their own table and yes terry was part of that). Here are a few pictures of the fun.

Halloween Party

I did it! I actually got Nathan to wear a costume this halloween. We decided that we would go as Pirates. I didn't want to spend any money on costumes this year so we ran around the house trying to pull things together that might make for some good costumes. It was so much fun piecing things together and tearing old shirts to make our costumes. I also have an amazing mom that made me a pirate shirt a few years back that we were able to use. Oh, and a sweet pirate hat. It was so fun for me and my amazing husband was great about wearing what I asked him to.

So It Begins!

Well,it seems like Nathan and I have been running around all summer. We had a great time over the last few months. We definitely played hard, and are now working hard. Nathan started at OHSU on August 16th. He actually just finished his last final for this term on Friday. He has been working hard and I am so grateful that I married such a wonderful man. I started student teaching at Beaverton HIgh School. Man, I am sure learning a lot. There are so many things that I am learning right now that you simply can't get from a class or book. I find that it is going by really quickly and that before I know it I will be finished with my student teaching and officially have my degree. That will be a great day! Here are some pics of our first day at school.

No, I am not drinking coffee in that mug. Nathan is so good to me. He made me hot chocolate to take with me. He packs my lunch for me every morning too. Really he is incredible.

We have been working really hard on our condo over the last month or so. It has left us with little time to do other things, but we are starting to finish up the big projects and move on to other activities. We are starting to venture out into the Portland area. We went to Saturday's Market. I love it so much (always have). This was a first for Nathan, but it reminded him a lot of the markets in Brazil. It was quite fun. We had a great day there.

I guess that is enough for now, but I am going to try to be better about updating this thing.

A Whirlwind of Fun

I noticed that a whole lot of people are updating their blogs and I decided that I wanted to join in on the fun. Life these last few months have been so fun and super busy. Nathan and I finished up classes last month. We Graduated! Okay, truthfully, I have to do my student teaching this fall and then I will be done, but I decided to walk because we won't be coming back to Rexburg for classes anymore. Nathan is now done with his undergraduate degree and getting ready to start dental school this fall.

We are so lucky that Janelle, Terry, and Brian were able to make it too. Oh, I forgot to mention that Brian and Terry missed a major playoff intramural basketball game for us. It was all good though, and now they are Champions!

So off we were and a little sad to be leaving Rexburg and our first apartment together (AND THE BARNEYS, man we miss them-You guys should consider moving to Oregon; Think about it) We headed straight up to the Portland Area. Nathan and I are buying a Condo. Crazy! We have certainly learned a lot about buying a house. We are currently in the process of working everything out, but things are looking good.

My parents offered to take us up to Seattle. My dad had a dental class. We played will he went to class (hardly seems fair, but we loved it). I had never been to Seattle before. I loved it! We went to the temple there for a session and then to pike market. We went to a Mariners game. We went to REI and then to Daniel Smith's Art store. We visited the campus there. It was a packed few days, but a great time. Thanks MOM and DAD WEDAM. WE LOVE YOU!!!

I love the movie sleepless in Seattle. I am sitting in the exact seat that Tom Hanks sat at during one of the scenes of the film. Loved it!

Birthday Celebration and Some Crazy Fun In Provo

I thought that it was about time that I update the blog. We have been having so much fun that I just wanted to share it with everyone. On January 14th we celebrated my 23rd birthday. I am getting old. It was a blast. I woke up to breakfast and flowers that Nathan got me. It was so sweet.

We went to dinner with Kim and Nic, which was so enjoyable. Then we headed to their house to open gifts and eat cake with the girls as well. It was so fun. Lucy and Kate took care of opening everything so I could start trying on things right away.

Nathan got me some shoes and this sweet smore roaster (which we tested out the smore roaster a week later, so funny). Kim and Nic got me a snuggie which was funny, but so warm and cuddly. I love it! I had a bit of help blowing out the candles, too. Later, we were all entertained with some dancing by Lucy. I think that it was just about the cutest thing I have ever seen.
This last weekend Nathan and I headed to Utah to celebrate our anniversary and see Terry, Janelle, and Brian. Since the traditional gift to give on your first anniversary is paper, I thought that the best thing to give Nathan was a couple of tickets to a Jazz game. So this last Friday we headed to Utah. First we had dinner at Tucano's. SO GOOD! Then we headed to the game. It was so fun. I loved being there with him.

Then we headed to Provo. There we meet with Terry, Janelle, Brian, and caught up Jessi and Steph (and her other half, Andy). I met with Jessi, Steph, and Andy for lunch. We just chatted and caught up on all that has been going on in our lives. It was so fun and I can't believe how much I missed those girls. I just wish Autumn could have been there too.

Then a group of us headed to Nickel City for some fun arcade games. It was fun.
Jessi won a lot of tickets. I am amazed at her skills. I also got to meet Lora. Very sweet and I really liked her. We just hung out the rest of the weekend and enjoyed each other. I had such a wonderful time. Thanks Everyone! You guys are the best!

What A Great Christmas and New Years!

Nathan and I had just a wonderful holiday season this year. It was our first as a married couple. We had fun getting ready for the holiday season by making a gingerbread house. We had so much extra dough that we decided to make a bunch of gingerbread men. I was so fun and Nathan got very creative by designing an afro man and a cyclops.

What a cute cyclops! Didn't Nathan do such a nice job!

We also received a great bit of news this holiday season. Nathan got into dental school! We are headed to Portland, Oregon this August. I am so proud of him. He has worked so hard and has done so much to make this dream of his a reality. He is just so wonderful. After school finished up we headed to Utah to attend Clark and Michelle's wedding. It was great to be there and it was a beautiful wedding. We then continued into Oregon to spend Christmas with the Wedam family. We had a great time. It was so great to be able to spend time with my Uncle Jack and Aunt Jerri.

This was the mess of wrappings after opening gifts on Christmas day. Nathan got me a new camera for Christmas, which I was so excited to get! He also got me an elephant figurine. I loved it because on one of our first few dates I told Nathan that I have always dreamed about riding an elephant someday (and even after I told him this he still married me).

On the 26th we went to a movie in 3D. It was so funny to look at everyone in their 3D glasses that I had to take a picture of it. Nathan and I then celebrated our anniversary. We made it a year! Let me just say that I married an amazing man that is so patient and caring. He is such a light in my life. He is tender and kind.

Next it was time to spend New Year's with the Bailey family. We had a wonderful time.

I got to sew an apron with the help of Mom Bailey. It was so fun, but I must admit that I am a terrible sewer. There is still time to improve though.

We had a wonderful New Years. The Bailey's had written letters to themselves from the year 2000 and put them into a time capsule, which they opened this New Years (2010). It was incredible listening to the letters that were written. I really enjoyed it, although I was a bit nervous adding my letter to the pile to be read in the year 2020. Man, I will be old then!

We also got to have Christmas with the Baileys on New Years Day.

Lucy and Kate loved this kitchen that they got for Christmas. It was so cute and funny watching them play with it.

All in all it was a wonderful time!

Fun with the Fam in Twin Falls!

Nathan and I had so much fun this weekend!! We were able to go and visit Kim, Nic, and the girls for the weekend. Plus, we got a extra nice treat. Janelle and Brian came to Twin for the weekend as well. It was so fun seeing them. I really love Nathan's family (I guess it is my family now too!) They just are the most wonderful people. We mostly just hung out, talked, and played games, but it was just what we needed. We also were able to go and see the falls there in Twin. I was so cold! We will have to try it again when it is a bit warmer. Thanks Kim and Nic for letting us crash at your place. It was just Perfect!

AUTUMN!!

Well, it has been quite the fall semester for Nathan and I. It seems like we just keep going and going. Nathan went out to Marquette for a dental interview, which he thinks went well and now we just are waiting to hear back from them. It would be so nice if we knew where we were going to be next summer, but we still have some time. He also has an interview coming up on Nov. 23 at OHSU, which is so exciting. That is our number one choice! We would love to be close to family and in-state tuition doesn't sound too bad either. I am just trying to finish up on the schooling. We are getting close and are both walking in April. It is so exciting! So some other fun things have happened these last few months are: My mom came and spent some time with us here in Rexburg. It was so fun. We really enjoyed having you come Mom!! Now we need Mom Bailey to come for a visit. We made cookies with my Mom, Kim and the girls. That was a blast and I was so impressed with Lucy. She is so detailed with her work. Amazing!! We also carved pumpkins. We scooped them out when my Mom was here, but didn't finally finish them until a few days ago. Just in time for Halloween. Our Summer Adventures

Well, I have been pretty bad about blogging this summer, but partly due to the fact that we have been just about everywhere. I finished up with my Summer semester classes and was excited to make the most of my seven week break. We started out returning home to Oregon to spend some time with my family. I was able to see my brother Terry for the first time in a little over two years because he has been serving a mission in Mexico. It was so wonderful to have the whole gang together. Our first adventure was to fish in the Williamson.

My brother thought that he should test his luck walking on water since ya know he is a return missionary.

I lost that camera in the river when I flipped in the kayak.

These are the true fishers of the group!

Then we went to see a Moody blues concert at the Britt festival!

Next we headed up to the Coast and to my Grandparents house. We had so much fun!!

Then it was off to a horsing trip!

This was so fun we would go out on day trips for about three to four hour rides. We rode up to the summit one day and it was beautiful.

Then it was back home for a few days and we went to pick raspberries out at the Barney's.

We love spending time with Kim and Nick and the girls! We are going to miss having them around!

I know, I know this just keeps going, but I you really must keep reading because we have so much to share! WE WENT TO CANADA with the Bailey family! I loved it. We went to Barnwell, Alberta and then to Waterton for about ten days. It was quite the adventure and it was so, so beautiful.

This is the longest AND highest bridge in Canada and I would certainly not want to be the one driving across it.

We had just seen Singing in the Rain on the stage so we decided to do a little acting of our own.

We were able to see the temple there in Alberta. It was wonderful.

WATERTON! All I can say is WOW WOW WOW. If you have never seen it before get yourself up there!

We had so much spending time up in Canada with the Bailey family. We love you guys so much. Thanks to both of our families for showing us a good time this summer and more importantly for the love and care you always give. We love you guys!!!

Summertime Fun!!

Well, it has been a little while since I last updated the blog. I am finishing up the semester here at BYU-I and Nathan has been finishing secondary applications for dental school, but it looks like all the craziness is about the come to a close shortly. Let me tell you, we are excited about that!! We have been having some fun while have been here. We went to the zoo with Kim, Nic, and the girls. It was a blast. We are hoping that they don't get to tired of us because we love doing things with their family. It was a great day and we had a lot of fun.

I loved the bird in the background. It was so fun talking to it and having it chat back.

We also loved going to the Chuker's Game! It was great and I even got a churo!!

Last, but not least we got to celebrate Nathan's Birthday. He wasn't feeling great that night, but was a real trooper!

And let me add I had some trouble with the frosting, but hey, it still tasted good and I'd say that is key!

A Whole Lot of Fun!

Well, a lot has happened since I last sat down and blogged. We have been having a lot fun and making some great memories. We have loved living so close to Kim and Nic and the girls! We have such a blast with them. We were able to go with Kim and the girls to the Park and have some serious fun. I was able to get some cute pictures of Lucy and Nathan.

Then we got to go to Mesa Falls with the Barney Fam. It was fun. There was a bit of rain coming down, but we still had a good time seeing the falls and cooking some hot dogs and marshmallows.

Last, but not least and surely the most important thing we did was GO HOME TO OREGON. Elliott and Brian were graduating and we had to be there! It was a blast being home and we didn't want to come home. I am taking classes at BYU-I and had to get back. Nathan is currently getting ready to take the DAT. He is studying a lot and trying to be as prepared as possible. What a good man! Wish him luck; it is coming up right away! So let's just say we would have rather stayed and played with the family. We enjoyed every minute of it and are so proud of Elliott and Brian.

Yellowstone

Nathan and I were able to join the Barney family out at Yellowstone for a day trip. We had so much fun. It was a blast to see Old Faithful and a few other spectacular sites. I haven't been to Yellowstone since I was a little girl, and it was fun to see it now compared to how I imagined it. Nathan had a good time too. He kept telling me stories from times before that he and his family had been there. We enjoyed the sites, loved the company, and just had a good ol' time.

The Pig Escaped!!!

Watching Lucy and Kate last weekend turned out to be quite the experience. I noticed that the pig had escaped the pen and quickly let Nathan know that he might need to return the pig back to its pen. That turned out to a big challenge. This pig was good, and I mean real good at escaping! Nathan managed to get it back to the pen only to watch it maneuver its way through some of the smallest spaces. That was pretty incredible itself because this pig was huge. Often it resorted to falling to one side and then flopping around until it got out. So once again Nathan was off and running after the pig. He tried lassoing it. That failed. Then he and Lucy used some grain to trick it, and get it back to the pen. It worked, only to have the pig get out again. So, then we had to call and get some help. It was quite fun and hilarious watching Nathan and Lucy chase the pig around.

NCAA Tournament

Since we were feeling a bit sad about not being in Disneyland with family, Nathan and I have been camping out the last few days for the NCAA Tournament. That's right we have a sweet fort in our living room! We filled out our brackets and have been following the teams. I am beating him so bad and loving it.

Friends, Family, and Some Good Ol' Fun

Nathan and I had the chance to go to Utah for the weekend. We were able to meet up with a few of my friends from school and some of his family. We spent Saturday, visiting with friends and just catching up. Janelle was able to join us, which was so great. We loved being with her as much as possible. Nathan has been really missing having her around at school, and so it was wonderful being able to spend a bit of time with her. Sunday we went to church with Janelle and then went over to the Hales' for dinner. It was great seeing everyone and we really enjoyed our time there.

We're Married!!

Okay, it has been way to long since we last updated this. So here it is. On the morning of December 27, 2008 Nathan and I were married for time and all eternity in the Medford, Oregon Temple. It was wonderful to be surrounded by family and friends. Upon coming out of the temple, we where were warmly welcomed and congratulated, and may I add, showered with flashes from the surrounding cameras. I was seeing spots for quite some time afterwards. After taking photos on the grounds, it was time to head back over the pass for the reception. We weren't going to make it without a quick food stop, so there we were in the Burger King drive through waiting for our burgers in our formal dress (me in my wedding dress and Nathan in his suit). No worries, we made it back clean and satisfied. Then we enjoyed the reception where we were again joined with great friends and family. We enjoyed dinner and cake. It was great to receive words of advise from our parents. I loved my first dance with my husband, and will cherish it always. Then we set off for our honeymoon with a great send off. It was a great day and we enjoyed sharing such a special day with our family and friends. Thanks to everyone that made it such a wonderful day. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.

The First Date

Alright, so Alisa wanted me to write down the story of our first date. I think it’s because it was pretty much the sweetest date she has ever been on and that she wants you all just to know how amazing and prepared I always am. So it was Thursday night and I didn’t have work the next morning. I really wanted to go fishing as well as go on a date with Alisa, so I thought I would just combine the two. The problem was it was already pretty late and I wanted to go early the next morning, so I was scared it was too late to call. Finally at about 10:30 I just decide to call her. I probably woke her up and she probably thought I was a weirdo, but she agreed to go. So the next morning we went down into the Klamath River canyon driving about five miles down a dirt road to get to the place where we were going to fish. We spent the morning fishing and each caught a fish, though I have to put in here (or I know Alisa will have to modify the story) that Alisa’s fish basically put mine to shame. At about noon we decided that we were done fishing and walked back up to the truck only to find that it was dead and wouldn’t start! I couldn’t believe it. It was the first time we had really hung out and there we were at the bottom of the Klamath River canyon (basically in the middle of nowhere) with a dead car,cell phones that had no service, and no water. I was just waiting for the dam to break and the water to wash us out of the canyon. I’m sure she was really impressed. It was a good thing that it was a nice day because our only option was to start walking. Not the ideal circumstance I know but it did give us some quality talking time. I just kept saying that it was part of the plan all along. After walking about three or four miles a car finally passed us which we flagged down and asked if they had jumper cables. They miraculously did and offered to give us a jump. It was only after we got in the car with them that we noticed all the handguns and machetes strapped to their belts which made me a little nervous. They were nice enough guys though and willingly jumped the truck for us. After quitting two more times on the way out of the canyon we finally made it back onto the main road and drove back to town.

Rockin' it at Michael's Farewell

Michael is leaving on his mission this week. He will be headed to the Everett, Washington mission. We were able to have a sweet time in Salt Lake today with family and friends to see him before he left. It was good to spend time with family and see him one more time before he leaves. We wish him the best as he heads to the MTC this week. He will be a great missionary.

The Enagement Story

Well, where to begin? I drove up to Idaho to visit Nathan before his classes started for the Fall semester. I had to see him. I was pretty crazy about this guy! We spent a great weekend together going to the fair and to his niece's baby blessing. After the blessing we headed to dinner out at the Barney's house with his family. It was so nice just laughing and chatting together. I hated to leave, but I needed to get back to Provo. I had classes the next day. Nathan asked me if I would like to go on a horse ride before I headed back. He totally knows my weaknesses. I love horses and was totally game. So we headed out to a grove of trees along the Snake river. It was so gorgeous out there. We rode for a little while and then he got off the horse and helped me off. I was a little shocked that he was getting off the horse, but I have learned to be prepared for an adventure when doing things with Nathan. Anyways, I think that the horse was more nervous than he was because he kept running circles around us. After we got the horse calmer, he just told me how much he loved me and then got on his knee and proposed! Umm... YES! Eventually we got back on the horse and rode off in the sunset back to the house. It was perfect!

Sports Section

Alright if we are going to have a blog we are going to have to devote a section to the Jazz. After all, I have to say that they did play a small role in getting us together. Some of the first times that we hung out were watching the Jazz playoff games at Mark's house. So seriosly we can't forget their importance.
